Payment methods

Insured patients must have pre-authorisation for any consultations, tests and procedures.

Self funding patients must pay in advance. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, (BMI Card*), bankers draft, Building Society cheque, personal cheque or cash.

Any inpatient episodes must again be pre-authorised or paid before or on admission.

Please note that cheques need to be received at least five working days before your admission to hospital to ensure funds are cleared. *The BMI Card, our own payment card, offers up to six months interest free credit for health care purchases, provided you are a cardholder before treatment commences.

You normally need to allow three weeks before admission to process your application.
